Both performers have life practices in Action Theater created entirely in the moment. Deanna is a movement artist, educator and therapist. Claire Peaslee is a West Marin naturalist, writer and radio voice whose "exploring improv" series celebrates the power of imagination. Equally at home in a dance club, concert hall, or house party, The Aux Cajunals plays the kind of old-fashioned Cajun music that has been played at Cajun house parties in southwest Louisiana for more than 100 years. She has given countless recitals in the U.S. and abroad, has performed virtually the entire standard chamber music repertoire, and performed with Chamber Soloists of San Francisco and the San Francisco Trio. Currently she performs with the Navarro Trio, and is on the faculty of Sonoma State University. She will be performing works by Scarlatti, Brahms, Rachmaninoff, Chopin, and Debussy. Sunday, February 17, 4 p.m./$16 general, $14 seniors, $5 teens and kids THE EVOLUTION OF CONSCIOUSNESS AND ART Known for his lively lectures, San Francisco-based scholar Dr. Robert McDermott will present a talk on the evolution of consciousness and art. President Emeritus and professor of philosophy, cosmology, and consciousness at the California Institute of Integral Studies, his books include The Essential Aurobindo, The Bhagavad Gita and the West, and The New Essential Steiner.
