THE FILMS OF JAY ROSENBLATT
San Francisco filmmaker Jay Rosenblatt’s short films are elegant mosaics combining educational movies from the ‘50’s and ‘60’s, newsreels, Hollywood clips, historical footage, home movies, and a rich trove or archival materials. Surreal and dreamlike as they often feel, Rosenblatt’s movies also have hard-hitting psychological and historical underpinnings. He is arguably the most acclaimed filmmaker of short personal/experimental movies working in the U.S. today, and a recipient of both Guggenheim and Rockefeller Fellowships.

NOH: ANGELS, DEMONS AND DREAMERS
NOH: Angels, Demons, and Dreamers is an evening of adaptations of five supernatural Japanese Noh plays and Kyogen, created and performed by Laura Jorgensen and Fred Curchack. Using their acclaimed theatrical magic, Jorgensen and Curchack transform these timeless masterpieces into artistic adventures for the modern Western audience.

DANCE PALACE PIANO CONCERT SERIES: LISA SPECTOR
Lisa Spector has swept the country from coast to coast winning prestigious national piano competitions, including first prize at the International Piano Recording Competition and first prize in the New York Chopin Competition. A member of the California Arts Council Touring Roster, she has performed in the U.S., China, Italy and France. She holds music degrees from Juilliard and U.S.C., and has performed with the Aspen Symphony, Syracuse Symphony, and the National Philharmonic of Romania. “She was breathtaking…ravishing.” San Francisco Classical Voice

HALLOWEEN STORIES WITH STORYTELLER NESHAMA FRANKLIN 
Neshama Franklin will present a program of Halloween stories especially for little ones at our Tuesday morning baby gym. Neshama has years of experience in theater and dance, and these skills help bring her stories alive. She hones her stories on her own grandchildren, and has told stories at libraries, schools, and camps.

MARTHA & MONICA: VOYAGES
Martha & monica embark on their second concert season! The cello/piano duo launch Voyages – a journey traversing a wide stylistic territory while crossing new frontiers. Set sail to
songs by Francis Poulenc and Claude Debussy, followed by Ondine, for solo piano by Maurice Ravel, and Invece ("instead of") for solo cello by Pascal Dusapin. The journey ends with the Sonata, Op. 65 by Frédéric Chopin.
