SYNCHRONY IN MOTION DANCERS
Synchrony in Motion Dancers delight in introducing people to the many styles and variations of Ballroom and Latin Dance. They have performed throughout the Bay Area at fairs, festivals, and community events including Cal Expo, Alameda County Fair, and the Lodi Grape Festival.

Staro Vino plays the vibrant, rhythmic music of Bulgaria, Serbia, and Macedonia and features Ellyn Bush on accordion and vocals, Greg Jenkins on Clarinet and vocals, and Mark Jenkins on tapan, darabuka, and vocals. Come to listen, or to dance.

WAKE THE DEAD
Wake the Dead, the world’s only Celtic All-Star Grateful Dead Jam Band, is a sizzling acoustic Bay Area ensemble that blasts away the boundaries between Celtic music and the songs of the Grateful Dead. The members of Wake the Dead are all among the best-known and most respected players in Northern California: Danny Carnahan on fiddle, octave mando
and vocals; Sylvia Herold on guitar and vocals; Paul Kotapish on mandolin and vocals; Maureen Brennan on Irish harp; Joe Craven on percussion; Cindy Browne on bass, Bobbi Nikles on fiddle, and Brian Rice on percussion.

Guitar in hand, Tim Cain’s sing-along concerts provide children and their parents a chance to experience the joy of singing and moving. The spontaneity and humor of his performances are engaging to people of all ages. A former rock musician, Dawn Yun of the San Francisco Chronicle has dubbed Tim
“the Mick Jagger of the milk-and-cookies set.”

DANCE PALACE PIANO CONCERT SERIES: THOMAS SCHULTZ
Thomas Schultz has established a reputation both as an interpreter of music from the classical tradition and as one of leading exponents of the music of our time. Among his recent engagements are solo recitals in New York, Berlin, and Kyoto, as well as at the Schoenberg Festival in Vienna, Korea’s Tonyoung Festival, and the Other Minds Festival in San Francisco. He has been a member of the piano faculty at Stanford University since 1994. “His performance combines grace, improvisatory gusto and
vigorous physical energy in splendid measure.” Joshua Kosman, S.F. Chronicle.
He will be performing works by Webern, Busoni, and Brahms.

AN EVENING WITH JOEL SALATIN
Joel Salatin is a fulltime farmer in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley. A third generation alternative farmer, he returned to the farm fulltime in 1982 and continues refining and adding to his parents’ ideas. He was featured in Michael Pollan’s book, The Omnivore’s Dilemma. This event is sponsored by Marin Sun Farms.
